Depends who he sees being a regular..

If Elliot is a regular he'll be skipper, if Carey is playing he'll be skipper but if neither of them are playing i'd like Flint to be captain.

Yeah if Elliot is here he'd be alright. Will Flint be made captain after he's only just arrived this summer though?

Is a captain in football all that important?

I mean, he doesn't decide tactics or have involvement in selection.

Shake hands at the k.o, call heads or tails, then shout loud for 90 mins.

Does it matter in modern day football who the captain is?

according to dad there was a article about this on bbc sport, debating how important the captains role is and whether it is only for shaking hands etc. Can't find a link I'm afraid.

Not sure it should be Flint mate! Although he could turn out to be a good skipper I think it should be someone who has been at the club longer!

Saying that if the likes of Elliott or Carey don't play we don't have many leaders!

I would say Cunningham, possibly Moloney but slim pickings after that. I can see the logic in Flint mind! Love a ball winning centre half as a skipper, just don't know if it's a good idea putting extra pressure on him!?

Genuinely intrigued to see who will be skipper.

not Flint, he's only just joined the club! Cunningham would make a decent captain in my opinion

What difference does that make? If SOD believes he has the right qualities and the players around him respect him then how long he has been here shouldn't matter. Don't forget we have a lot of new faces and some youngsters who look like they will be given a chance this season, so I can't see any bad feelings etc

Personally I think Elliott if he plays, it seems to raise his game. If not Cunningham or flint.

I do however feel we put too much emphasis on it in this country.
