WraxallRed
25 July 2009: Newcastle suffer probably their most humiliating friendly defeat losing 6-1 at League 1 side Leyton Orient, some newspapers then say that they're going down again. 2 May 2010: Newcastle finished the 2009–10 season with a 1–0 victory at Queens Park Rangers. This gave the team a total of 102 League points, surpassing the 100 point mark for the first time in the club's history.[ Pre-season friendlies are all about fitness levels and getting the team settled into new tactics, this takes time. Anyone who moans or panics about losing a friendly is just bored. Leyton Orient went on to finish 17th that season.
