Has Sod Gone Goal Crazy?

Been having a look at some of SoD's stats as a manager and so far this season the amount of goals scored and conceded so far is way above what his teams normally reach.

If you ignore his first season with bournemouth as a manager (getting the swing of it) and his last season at donny when the wheels started to fall off, here are his full season results.

League1 2005/06 bournemouth scored 49 conceded 53

League1 2007/08 doncaster scored 65 conceded 41 promoted through play-offs

Champs 2008/09 doncaster scored 42 conceded 53

Champs 2009/10 doncaster scored 59 conceded 58

This season after 8 games scored 13 conceded 19.extrapolate those figures over a 46 game season = scored 73 conceded 109!.

Now I know its only 8 games and things may settle down this season, but is SoD going for it more in games and sacrificing the solid base that he is associated with, or is our defence simply making to many errors?

Is it not enough protection from the midfield or lack of workrate in defending further up the pitch? Maybe its a combination of some or all of these things but all in all its been very very unSoDlike so far.will goals continue to go in at both ends or will we see more conservative football further into the season?

More likely there's a limit to what a manager can achieve with what he's given.

SO'D's teams are all about players making the right choice and choosing the right pass. The extent to which they succeed depends largely on the players. Generally speaking teams that play like that will concede few, because they won't give the ball away, but may not score so many because they take fewer chances with their passing. However, we're seeing that this change cannot take place immediately. As his changes take more effect I'd expect to see the goals conceded come down and possibly the number of goals scored too, though obviously that's better higher.
