No Belief

This is the root cause of our form. The players simply don't believe they can win a match.

Remember when GJ was in charge and we went on that amazing run were we kept winning in the last 20 minutes after being behind from early on in the match? That was simply because he instilled a belief in the players that they were never totally beaten and could always come back and win.

The problem with being a buddha-like, dead-straight, emotionless manager like SOD is that he comes across as detached and is therefore unable to instill that belief in this team of very young and inexperienced players.

It's great having a long term, detailed plan, but in the lower leagues it's as import to craft a team of fighters who believe the game is never over until the final whilst goes. As Mike Tyson once said "Everyone has a plan until you punch them in the face".

I completely agree. The writing was on the wall at the season's beginning, when SOD said expect a a struggle.  Well, here it is the self-fulfilling prophecy.  No one in the first team could ever conceive of anything else.

I don't like to drag up the postponements again, but quite frankly we're a team who rather put a game off (through terror) rather than demand it.  It's a sign of the psychological state permeating the first team.

Quite frankly we'd be better off with a madcap nutter like Dean Saunders in the short term, simply because he at least has a bit of charisma and drive.

There appears to absolutely zero self-belief in SOD's team.
