edh
All this talk of win ratios, adherence to the five pillars, and managerial potential v. experience is missing the real point. City's problem has been managers with double consonants in their surnames. Failure under O'Driscoll, McInnes, Millen, Coppell,Tinnion, Lennartsson. Compare that with play-offs and promotions under Johnson, Wilson, Ward, Jordan, Cooper (double vowels are ok), Dicks. Before anyone says it, Pulis is the exception that proves the rule. So, when they appoint Cotterill it will be a complete disaster.

Or with 2 Ts and 2 Ls you could see it as a double negative causing a shift in the space/time continueum resulting in a positive outcome
Northern Red
Interesting theory. Means Holloway is a no-no, as is Cotterill.
Daniro
this makes more sense than a lot of stuff written on these boards in the last 24 hours. does it only apply to City managers though? Hoddle Eriksson Capello Hmmm- weren't they the more successful bosses since Sir Alf http://www.englandfootballonline.com/teammgr/MgrChron.html Interesting!
