Why Would Anybody Want It........

In all seriousness why would any self respecting or ambitious manager want to come here, what with the financial restraints , and a board that clearly has not got a clue what it wants or needs. So that leaves the next lot. guys below are level that will have everybody saying what does this bloke know he's got no experience or those who are out of work and are simply after the pay day....

Just a thought .

Its a big job for someone, especially an up and coming manager

what with the financial restraints ,

They are the same at every club in this division.

and a board that clearly has not got a clue what it wants or needs.

I'll give you that one!

So that leaves the next lot. guys below are level

We're in the bottom 3 of division 3, what do you think our level is?

that will have everybody saying what does this bloke know he's got no experience or those who are out of work and are simply after the pay day....

Surely you can say that about most managers. SOD was out of work when we employed him.

Just a thought .

This could be the most important appointment this club has made for 31 years. I hope they take their time and indentify the right man but there are no guarantees when employing a manager.

But we are a reasonably attractive proposition, despite where we find ourselves in the league. I believe our players to be better than that league position indicates as well, hopefully they'll prove it under the new man. (or woman)

There is no better time to become manager of a club than when it is at a much lower point than it would be expected to be. Peter Taylor got extremely lucky a few years ago when he took over Hull City near the bottom of the fourth tier for example.

Bristol City is a very attractive opening right now. A bad move for a manager is succeeding someone who has taken a club to the zenith of its aspirations, such as the mug who followed Adkins at Scunny.

You're quite right.  People will be fighting over this role.  The new man only has produce something between poor and average results to be an improvement on SOD.  Really, it's no lose situation isn't it?
