Back in the early 90s (when large amounts of gel was actually trendy), it was a flippin nightmare playing football in the rain - the gel gets in you eyes and you can't see a thing. That was the only thing that stopped me making it as a pro. Gawd knows how Giggsy managed. Perhaps the fans will start using gel in the rain so they don't have to watch terrible football? Yeah, I didn't notice that at the time - how come the press didn't go to town with that too??
