Mrdc
We are in desperate need of target man to play alongside Baldock and perhaps the answer is staring at us in the face in Aiden Flint. He is big and powerful and pretty much everything in the air. It won't be pretty by due our shocking league position we need wins and not pretty football at the moment. Ashton1
Really ? How about investing in a centre forward

Kingswood Robin
If the forward line has been punchless and there's 15/20 minutes to go and we need a goal, then absolutely. We use everything we've got at our disposal.
Alex_BCFC
I've seen McCombe upfront a few times and he was a much better CB than Flint - it rarely worked.
HoldenBall
This forum gets better and better, he can hardly play in his natural position, how the hell could he play as a striker??

Not much I know, but, anyone up front capable of winning a ball in the air would be an improvement!
Somerset Red
He's got an eye for goal, that's for sure!
GoingUp
I was thinking something akin to the o.p's suggestion, definitely got an eye for a goal just need to make him think he's defending our own goal.can create as well, just look at that perfect pass for port vale's goal !! Eco
Might be worth sticking him up front for last 10/15 minutes as we used to do with Boom when things were desperate.
Welcome To The Jungle
McCombe got a goal vs Middlesbrough as a striker, vasko got one as a striker...it does work at times
Red-Robbo
We are in desperate need of target man to play alongside Baldock and perhaps the answer is staring at us in the face in Aiden Flint. He is big and powerful and pretty much everything in the air. It won't be pretty by due our shocking league position we need wins and not pretty football at the moment. If we want a big, slow bloke up top, Marlon Harewood has scored a f- site more goals than Flinty and is probably harder. I'd certainly not mess! I like the Baldock/Burns combo personally. Two fast uns, pulling the defenders hither and thither.
Sleepy1968
Flint has no composure. Joking aside, I'd fancy my dog to score more goals than him as a targetman. And I dont have a dog.
Red Ferret
It's not unheard of tbh. Dion Dublin began his career as a centre back
BS34Red
I can see the logic, he I'd always in the wrong place at the wrong time and scores own goals, instead put him in the opposite area and hope the same happens
1960maaan
To be honest I was surprised SC didn't try it for the last stages Saturday ! From the start ? I think not.
Eddie Hitler
It's not unheard of tbh. Dion Dublin began his career as a centre back As did Chris Sutton. Certainly he would work as a Niall Quinn type target man knocking the balls down to Baldock as Flint wins pretty much everything in the air. Can't see him scoring many but IIRC NQ didn't either, just provided the knock-downs so Kevin Philips could score.

BCFC_Dan
We always used to say Steve Torpey would make a good centre half. Seems if they're big and not good at their current job, we recommend them for the other position suited to a tall player assuming they'll somehow be good at it. Rich_s
This suggestion is more bizarre than playing Ryan Taylor in defence.

cider_dog
Flint is lacks composure, pace, touch and balance. He is highly overrated IMO, little more than a donkey. All he does is hoof it back with the inside of his foot, or stick it in the back of his own net. He is good winning balls in the air, but not great a directing headers. He would be a joke upfront, better to stick with Taylor or Harewood.

Taylor10
Flint couldn't trap a bag of cement....so it's a big no from me. Although shakey lately I think he will be a good CB for us in time. (I hope)
