In the Net
Scroll down to the bottom of this article, and there is a photo of City fans dressed as Santa, taken at Hillsborough in 1999. Wondered if there were any forum members amongst this motley crew? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2524946/George-Best-Andy-Gray-Tony-Adams-Golden-Years-Christmas-football-special.html#ixzz2nxsUPhnU

Jesus
They used to be up in H Block around 1997 ish. God I miss those days. "Your father was a goat, and your mother smelt of elderberries". Only people who were around at that time will know what I'm talking about. Yes, we took about 3,000 but total crowd only about 10,000. Our fans smashed a load of buses up so we had to go back to station by tram

sglosbcfc
Interesting to see the City fans in the 1970s photo with a St George flag, all the images I have seen of 1970s football shows fans with Union flags.
In the Net
Those 1970's photos are a reminder of how sanitised football has become. Yes, there were things that needed to change, but I think it's gone a step too far these days.
Busterrimes
The chap on the far right is called Shaun and used to go everywhere in the 90s. He used to help me organise the annual Blackpool weekend.

In the Net
I think that the guy 2nd right of the top corner of the robin flag could be a young Geoff Twentyman. A couple of girls in front of the first flag, although football was not fashionable for women in those days.

Nogbad the Bad
My old man is in that lot somewhere So am i, but can't see myself in those pictures. They only cover a couple of smallish sections of an end that was packed like that throughout. I see Clough's assistant, Peter Taylor, is just above the flag on the 2nd photo. S. Bristol Born & Red
one more crowd pic from the same game... plus action from the game.... remember that 'face in the crowd' feature they used to have in the programme?, if your head was circled you won a prize.... ciderup
My first derby as a little un, stood right at the front of the Muller rd end. One of my lasting memories of those days was that everyone seemed to have a red and white scarf, bring em back I say!

Alan Whicker! ... he used to get about a bit in them days mind. (thought it might have been Robin Day at first but that was just a crazy thought) Yes, Whap, he came along with his mates Peter Tayor, in front, and Bjorn Borg, behind him. All 3 became firm City fans in the run in to promotion and followed the team everywhere. An unlikely trio it has to be said.
WhistleHappy
..a few more 'stars' of the day hidden in those 70's pics, a couple of Bay City Rollers I reckon, ... & maybe the lead singer of Mud (singing Tiger Feet next to Super City bannerwith shades on) ... some Wheres Wally impersonators spread around in various WW hats etc... didn't know he was a City fan but the guy holding the St George flag looks suspiciously like a young Gary Lineker... (surely not)
WhistleHappy
Easter Eggs have shrunk somewhat over the years too, look at the size of some of them being held by fans... mind you Curley Wurleys (sp) used to be a proper size then too - now, if you can still get 'em, you'd be lucky to get Short 'n Curley Wurleys ... Rip Off Britain - I blame the Brazilians. (oops, that's balloons their holding innit.. tch, silly me!)
WhistleHappy
Those were the days ... brilliant times, I well remember standing & swaying along with the crowds singing some of the chants... 'City Til I Tie 'n Dye' was a 70s classic.

WhistleHappy
One confused guy in suit, collar & tie, looks like he just popped down to Ikea for their Easter sales probably wanted a new kitchen or something ... he was a too bit early though, despite finding himself in what he presumed were crowds of fellow bargain hunters.
