Barrs Court Red
How much is true, how much is media spin? Its a bad state of affairs when you cant take weather forecasts seriously.

Nause
Gonna be a bad day today fair enough but how many times in a year do the weather forecasters get it totally wrong ? If we all made mistakes in our jobs, would our employers put up with it,or would we still get paid ?

If we all made mistakes in our jobs, would our employers put up with it,or would we still get paid ? The problem is that the Met Office generally do get it right. The problems come from blokes in their bedrooms who get a 2:2 in meteorology from Bolton University, buy a subscription to a couple of meteorological models and then make up apocalyptic weather scenarios to sell to newspapers. And if you're The Express or The Mail and you have the option of printing either a story about 'Snowmageddon' or a story about how 'it might be a but chilly with a bit of a breeze', what are you going to pick? Eddie Hitler
Loads of rain continuing through the day combined with high winds. This will mean accidents on the roads so a flag for people to plan thier journey carefully on a major day for travel is a good move. Obviously the papers are going to sex it up a bit, if they didn't then they would be dull, tedious and worthy like The Independent.

The Met office are nearly always spot on ( they admit that they can only go about 4 days in advance) it's the likes of the Daily Express and the other rags that sensationalise the weather. When the rags get it wrong they try and blame the Met office!

When the rags get it wrong they try and blame the Met office! They admit that now! It was only two or three years ago that they predicted the "barbecue summer". After that debacle they stopped.
