Lewis Dunk has almost certainly played his last game for Bristol City.

 

Signed on a short-term basis at the start of October, the 21-year-old has returned to Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of his loan spell.

But the knee injury that forced him to limp off during the first half of Saturday's 4-2 win at Carlisle makes it unlikely he will be back at Ashton Gate.

 

Dunk made three appearances during his time with City and is now being assessed by Brighton's medical staff back at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls are not expected to make the defender available for loan hereafter and Robins head coach Sean O'Driscoll will now consider alternative options as he seeks to bolster his back four
