I struggle to make playlists unless its before going for a run.

There are songs I listen to more because they remind me of people or events though. I listen to music everyday and love how a song can take you to a time or place. Here is a random sample of most recent plays.

Alex Turner - Stuck on the puzzle

Jamie T - Alicia Quays

Biffy Clyro - Spanish Radio

The Wombats - 1996

The Connells - 74/75

Elliot Smith - Bottle up and explode

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Otherside

Dan Black - Symphonies

Robert Plant - Big Log

Dire Straits - Brothers in arms

Feeder - Slowburn

The Strokes - Someday

Pink Floyd - See Emily Play

Dirty Pretty Things - Truth begins

I rarely listen to music when running, unless, like today, it is a long run solo.

Have a "songs I like" playlist on my iPod, and ones I recall on today's shuffle:

New Order: Sunrise and Touched By The Hand of God

Sisters of Mercy: Marian

The Smiths: London

St Etiennne: I Was Born On Christmas Day

Billy Bragg: To have and to have not and Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards

808 State: Pacific State

Foo Fighters: Keep the car running

Vicki Sue Robinson: turn the beat around

David Bowie: 5 Years

KRS-1: why is that?

Dinosaur Jr: Freak Scene

Northside: Shall we take a trip?

Basically, my iPod doesn't know much about music released in the last decade or so.

Through fear of ridicule I'm actually going to have to say that I used to love "A guy called Gerald".

This track takes me back

Seriously remember losing it at Glastonbury one year to the following track. The bass was so intense it was pushing my ribs in and then if that wasn't enough it was flowing up through the  soil beneath my feet too.  Completely immersed/submerged I know not what. It was amazing.

Saw A Guy Called Gerald support New Order in Glasgow:  I recall being more than a little surprised that he had stuff other than "Voodoo Ray."
