Against Modern Football - Not Even Non League Is Safe

I see on twitter that the long arm of the FA have reached deep down, and collared Mangotsfield.

The club have a small band of very loyal and noisy supporters nickenamed the Inter Village Firm. Utterly harmless stuff.

Following a smoke bomb in December, and a flag displaying an anti facism motif Mangotsfield have had tochange their ground rules, to prohibit pyros and the display of political banners.

Now I know the argument of smoke bombs has been had on here many times, but the FA are actually monitoring Twitter accounts of non league fans, in a league where there is no specific legislation controlling pyros (on conference and higher are affected by specific legislation).

What does more damage, a premier league manager clearly swearing at his opposite number watched live on TV by millions, or a harmless group waving a flag infront of 20 people and a couple of cows. If you work for the FA, the answer might not be as straight forward as you would think!

Whenever I hear tales like this, where the FA want all clubs at all levels to abide by the same rules, I wonder what would happen if a village team asked the FA if they could have goal line technology installed, for example. I appreciate there is much more at stake in the Prem, but the FA only want equal rules for all when it suits them.

WILL NO ONE THINK OF THE COWS!!

Seriously, you're dead right. Just one more turn on the screw of repression in this sad country.

Pretty sure the clubs pay for the goal line technology?

And you actually believe that a flares are potentially less harmful than a flare in a crowd being let off by some kid as opposed to a 'insult' from on manager to another do you?

Poor souls that can lip read must be really scarred.

I'd have a read of my post, you'd possibly look slightly less silly.

Well yes it is, especially when this country is used an example of being repressive. It is therefore worthwhile reminding what indeed repression is.

And as far as using any type of dangerous item that could kill or maim in a stadium is sheer madness, that is why the FA have to look beyond the bigger clubs only, all clubs have to abide by the rules. I can't really get my head around why some think especially in the light of what has happened recently and in the past that these things are OK in a stadium...Crazy.

What's happened recently and in the past? You're making it up as you go along!

But anyway, its not the point. The fact that such a shambolic organisation finds the time or resource to investigate southern league fans groups perhaps points to why there is a shocking level of youth coaches, or why everything the FA does is half arsed and poorly implemented.

The priorities are all wrong in what is a sport, and at that level certainly not something to be taken seriously.

....... He said Smoke Bomb, In certain sections or have a stand designated it should do no harm, As it's smoke, Doesn't give off heat and if they were allowed they should have a place to put the cannister after using it........

Note: I said Smoke bombs, So if you reply don't change it to flares which are more dangerous

It's curious how at least one or two of them are from Yate. Technically Mangotsfields main rival. :grr:

I have no wish to get involved with this argument, and this will be my only post.

In your support of 'harmless' smoke bombs, as opposed to flares, have you not considered people in the crowd who are asthmatics or have other serious lung or breathing problems?

I also do not wish to get involved with this, but as per the quoted post here, you could also add to that the need to take the players on and off the pitch due to visibilty and I doubt the fans will see much if you have a whole dedicated area for smoke bombs people will no doubt go OTT and there will be smoke billowing for days !

I set off some fireworks  when we played one of our league rivals last season..... FA tried to discipline me... Bearing in mind our reserve team play at the downs. But when our changing rooms (Which we pay the council and league to look after) get broken into and numerous items of kit clothing and mobile phone/money get nicked. They say its not prudent for them to have a representative keep an eye on the changing rooms whilst games are taking place.

Same old FA...... Screwing the little clubs over.

The FA don't have their hands of their cocks long enough to retrospectively punish blatent cheating with a points deduction or legislate the choice to stand, yes stand, whilst at a football match.

What is it with clowns in positions of authority and this country?

Bankers, bonuses and the econonomy also springs to mind.

Yes very true, But if you buy a match ticket in the section or near the section where they would be used as I also said that is mainly your fault

Against Bradford and Sheff Utd even in the Eastend the smoke didn't get to me and I have asthma, Whereas at Cardiff in the pub I was wheezing on the way out

So in an area designated for smoke bombs to be used I feel they are safe

Then they have a limit for the amount of smoke bombs allowed in the designated area, Simple enough to sort out, Say 10 for a match and only 3 to be used at once

Repression in this sad country?

How daft can you get, repression is N Korea, China and similar, odd that despite this you might have us believe that Communism is a champion of the people? Well you must do if you think we are repressed in this Country of ours that you can type such in your cosy house in Suburban Bristol, vote in Elections knowing that you might not be shot at the Polling station, or if you are not your vote will not be tampered with, or perhaps you might live somewhere where there is no Democracy and no elections, these places are the true repressive states NOT UK chap.

Get a grip.

Are you completely off your trolley?

On the subject of flares, how do the Italians get away with it looks brilliant on the telly.

Can we not have sections of the ground that are flare free?

I think it creates atmosphere, which is rare anyway in the modern game

Italian football is nowhere near as enforced as it should be, racism hasn't even been dealt with yet.

RedDave in "Bloody hell, I've learnt something this week" shocker! :shocking:

There's hope for you yet son. Just stop hanging around upper-middle class wide-boys like RR mate.....

Good lord, there IS hope for Di Canio :D

ten minutes of rough, you're comparing North Korea and China with us.

The fact we don't have the choice to smoke in a pub, stand at the football or watch unscrurinised porn is repressive. Doesn't mean you need to bring Hitler, Stalin or the Apartied into it. We're just having a conversation.

Notice you didn't get back to me when I pointed out to you that Bristol football is not backward due to local rivalry, the other day. Makes Arsenal-Tottenham etc pretty inexplicable? Anything to say on that? Think you said we had a small mind mentality.

There's a poster called redeye that you remind me of.
