screech
Anybody know if this is possible? I originally bought WIN 7 OEM and have upgraded through a Microsoft Win 8.1 pro deal, I hate it, absolutely hate it. If I had wanted a touch screen look I would have bought a tablet with it on, I fear Microsoft will piss too many people off with this change. Is there a solution that has 8 working like Windows 7, start button, programs open normally and have exit button for windows etc... Just opened the calculator app and it is the size of my monitor on screen with huge clunky buttons, seriously, this is dire.
Barrs Court Red
You can boot straight to desktop, but I belive you are stuck with Metro as a Start Menu. Personally I like it, although I think it could have been better implemented. Google making windows 8 work like 7, you may be surprised.

Excellent choice, was about to tell you that windows 8.1 is a far far better os than windows 7, the only think they messed up was the interface, but the engine, drivers, performance, everything else makes windows 7 look second rate
