Praise Indeed

where's the joy

lets cut the chairman some slack, he has Bristols sporting interests at heart and i for one think the addition of soon to be premiership rugby down the gate will be good news for all city fans, as it will bring in revenue.

but make no mistake a chairman from the uk who has injected eye watering amounts of money into our club (and still does) without turning us into a franchise farce like Cardiff, and who is prepared to admit management and player appointment mistakes, the biggest of all being the signing of david calamity james, deserves our praise and respect.

now whether its vale or gate a new stadium will emerge and if we can turn our draws into wins under SC we will stay up; and the lansdown's will still be there

or would you rather a chairman with a malaysia tee shirt, black gloves, and bad manners?

Oh I agree completly its just a shame some on here cant see it, and think he should either plough another 100mil in and buy our dreams, or think we would have been better off without him from the start.

Without him from the start leaves lots of options open, prem team, conference team, or even bust.. we simply will never know.

But at least our chairmen is happy to pay for his mistakes, plenty of others would have jumped ship, leaving us in serious debt and unable to get out of it....

Some people on here will only see his value when hes gone. Then it will be too late and we will be risigned to lower league football forever.

The phrase be careful what you wish for could not be more apt in my opinion.

We must be the luckiest set of fans in the country. Which other club can boast an owner prepared to put huge sums in not only the club but community and not hold the fans to ransom?

Ok it hasnt worked out over the last couple of years. So what? Its football. If it was suposed to be easy no one would bother. We all loved SL when he appointed coppell, dmc and sod. Even millen seemed the right appointment at the time just to steady the ship if nothing else. He is a fan, one of us and all his decisions the majority of us were behind. The bloke does not deserve any critisism what so ever.

We might well not have a club if not for him so we should all thank him not sure about redeveloping AG as the parking is crap now and put,s lot of people of going

Why do you think that? It was quite healthy before he took control.

So many people spout this crap around as some sort of FACT. When in reality financially we we in a good place. We are still in a good place as long as he doesn't give up on it.

But please and this isn't just aimed at you, give it a bloody rest. This club would have still been around, more than likely in this division where historically we belong but a financially viable for interested parties.

went to see us lose 1-0 at huddersfield in a really poor game. sat to the side of the directors box, almost next to steve lansdown. with a birdseye view of his reaction.

the team performance that day was anemic, McIness at his worst; and huddersfield were almost as bereft of talent as us

he didn't rant, leave early, or disrespect his hosts. he behaved with dignity, and came out with a message of support for the manager shortly after.

i asked him what he made of the match on the way out. he smiled and just said we have to keep the faith........
