Major Isewater
Cotterill says the "supporters" must be patient with the style of play because we can't always go forward all the time. Interesting comment, loosely means all you cloth heads who shout "attack" or boo when the team pass around in our own half shut the f. uck up and stop showing your ignorance. fatchers
Its stating the obvious really. We , as a team cant keep turning the ball over so cheaply. We tend to create problems for our selves and put ourselves under pressure by giving the ball away when not under pressure. With sod we only tended to knock the ball sideways and backwards in Our own half. As opposing managers had said after they left the gate with at least a point this season, they were happy for City to have the ball in areas where we Would Not hurt them. Before Lumping it up aimlessly to our only forward who was out numbered my defenders who were most likely to knock the ball straight back upfield. HoldenBall
SOD basically said this over and over but in a more derogatory way.. Football fans don't know what they want, if we play long ball, the fans will moan, if we pass it around fans will moan..

I guess that's down to the perception of each individual fan.

Mad Cyril
I dont think anyone has an issue with passing it with pace along the back line to switch the side of attack and exploit a gap. Its when this originates from an advanced counter attacking wing position and is done slowly so that all it achieves is a slow down in play allowing the opposition to organise into two solid lines of defence. We have the players to launch fast counter attacks but seem to lack the free reign or confidence to try it.

Unless of course there was an easier pass to put someone in to set up an attaching move, and the ball went backwards instead

Football will always be shite when we're in the lower divisions, whatever position we're in.. Apart from Swansea a few years back what team came to the gate and really made you say "wow".. not a lot
italian dave
How much more patient do we need to be,we have just endured 5 years of absolute dross. But the point is that we'll have another 5 years of dross unless we get the message and show some patience. It's the impatience (most notably from the board) that's resulted in 5 years of dross. GodEmperor Palpatine
Don't think many would agree with you during wilson's reign. Spot on, think some of the football was excellent under Wilson, the best time for me watching City (since the early 90s)
