fatchers
It may only have been a motley crew knocking on the door of number 10 today but at least they managed to get their little petition into the prime ministers residence to support their campaign against trash and the other nimbys. Charlotte Leslie wearing a gas shirt in support of them and holding the petition was obviously good publicity for their campaign. In fact how they managed to get 13,000 to sign there little crosses was amazing. Obviously scribbled more than once. The whole episode left me rather jealous though. We had over 40,000 sign in support of our new ground yet no body has stood up and campaigned with the enthusiasm and generated the publicity that ms Leslie has. Dr Fox has been more in the news about his expenses . Unless of course it was when he stated he was against Ashton Vale. As was mentioned on the HTV news tonight, the problem in Bristol is that small minority groups are denying the majority, the developments we need, and they are content in keeping Bristol like a little village. So which South Bristol elected leader is going to get away from juggling their expenses and actually follow the lead set by ms Leslie ?

With you on this.....not just footy fans but all of us who want or dare i say demand better facilities across our great, Village ? Town ? City ?.........FFS it's a sprawling metropolis that needs urgent attention now ! not just an arena situated in the most traffic strangled and congested part of town to keep us quiet ( having a spelling mare )
fatchers
The fact that the village greeners have squandered hundreds of thousands of rate payers money fighting the stadium devepment at a time when this country was hit by the world wide recession, and this stadium could and should have provided hundreds of jobs and millions of pounds of investment in the city is a crime. These dogs walkers should be made to pay for the costs of their actions. The village green argument was only used as a fall back should they fail in there planning objections. The council should have had the guts to tell them that at the start instead of bottling it and putting it out to independent review. Bristol is one of the biggest citys in this country but,its being run like a village,at our expense.

GrahamC
The South Bristol elected leader who could have supported it was far more interested in the impact Ashton Vale would have on his businesses and with hanging around with his Green Party chums like Gus Hoyt, Rob Telford and the like... After becoming Prime Minister it took him all of about 5 minutes to close our local tip which, and surely this is a coincidence, was at the end of his village road - he'd have been able to hit it by throwing a tennis ball, if he wasn't so limp-wristed. The focus is never where it should be - the issues the majority want addressed. Take fox hunting as it's once more in the news. It's had almost 1000 hours of commons time over the years. For most people it's way down the list. Then take something like eradicating childhood diseases and caring for the needs of disabled kids in schools and it's barely been discussed, ever. The minority calling the shots.
