Almost got a 3rd and probably should have if Wagstaff had put the ball either side if the keeper. Seconds later we find ourselves pegged back to 2-1. Second half was backs to the wall. Never seen anything like it but brave defending, superb goalkeeping and a bit of luck see us not concede again. Lets hope the passion and commitment of the players and fans mean that tonight is a turning point not only for this season but next. Reasons to be positive.... Also the abysmal performance and result at Sheffield united. Sheff had a similar scenario when they were humiliated and thrashed by Crewe not so long ago. And again off- the-field, well done to whoever gave permission to Mark to make that 'talk'. A very brave and, as it's turned out, clever decision. Southport Red Posted March 12, 2014 Report Share Posted March 12, 2014 Defence has clearly been fearful and shot on confidence for some time. Last night's performance should go a LONG way to bringing the confidence back. I think they are good enough players, but confidence is everything. What some fans think is "couldn't care less" in some games, I think is the crippling effect of fear and shot confidence. T'would be lovely if we could leave that all behind huh?
