Phileas Fogg
Out of my squad, if I had to form an 11 (based purely on what would be entertaining, definitely not very defensive minded) I would go with Basso; McAllister, Caulker, Carey, Orr; Hartley, Noble; Trundle, JET, Adomah; Lita; (first goalscoring season) Would be a 4-2-3-1. Would love to see that group of players play together. Looking at people's squads we have had some excellent attacking players over the years. Trundle/Adomah can go where they like, could be deadly!
beaverface
KEEPERS ------------- Basso(GK) Welch(GK) DEFENDERS ----------------- Orr(RB) Locke(RB) Barnard(LB) Brennan(LB) Shaun Taylor(CB) Louis Carey(CB) Matt Bryant(CB) Steven Caulker(CB) Jamie McCombe(CB) MIDFIELDERS ------------------ Scott Murray(RW) Mark Gavin(RW) Brian Tinnion(LW) Dave Smith(LW) Gary Shelton(CM) Tommy Doherty(CM) Marvin Elliott(CM) Alex Russell(CM) STRIKERS -------------- Bob Taylor(CF) Andy Cole(CF) Shaun Goater(CF) Ade Akinbiyi(CF) SUBSTITUTES ------------------- Phillips Jacki Scott Thorpe McIndoe McCallister Vasko Newman Bikey What an interesting task that was. To me, it's apparent that we've had some fantastic full backs, wingers and strikers, but have seemed to have lacked the all round midfielder and centre back. It appears we've had plenty of first ball winning centre half's and ball winning midfileders, but not with a little bit of everything. The nearest two players I can think of are Gary Shelton, who could tackle, pass, score and get around the pitch, and believe it or not, Matt Bryant was was tall, fast, strong, decent shot and could pass a ball. The rest of the team I've tried to mix up destroyers and passers i.e You'd have to play Elliott with an Alex Russell, or McCombe with someone who has pace. We've been blessed with left full backs, and although Martin Scott and McCallister came close (and even Bell), Brennan and Barnard edged it for me because they had that little bit extra who played Internationally and higher than the Championship.
