Replacement For Iphone 4S

My contract runs out next month and I'm wondering about changing to a different Smugphone. Any suggestions or should I take the easy option and go for the 5?

I am getting increasingly pissed off with Apple's arrogance and incompetence - iOS 7.1 is a disaster area :(

Go for the Samsung Note 3 pal. I put a thread on here a while back and got some great advice. Nexus 7 is a good phone along with Sony Xperia Z. Never understood the love for iPhones.

Is the Note 3 an Android device?

Samsung battery life can last ages but only if you turn off the all the gadgets that they insist helps performance blah blah blah

I don't need driving mode when I'm not driving!!! Or the bloody GPS

The note 3 looks like a good bit of gear and would recommend that over the S4 and S3. The S5 has come out but I can't comment on that

iOS 7.1 has completely fracked up the battery life on the iPhone. It goes from 20% to dead in a fraction of a second. Half of Apple is frantically denying there's a problem while the other half is frantically trying to solve it. I used to work for IBM in their dominant days, and it was exactly the same there.

If you can stump up the readies in advance Aizoon get yourself a Nexus 5 (Android) direct from Google.

And order yourself a sim from GiffGaff. Highly competitive, uses the O2 network and you can change your contract on a month by month basis to suit your requirements. It's a great combination.

I'm planning on doing that giffgaff thing.

Anyone got any tips on the best way to get my Samsung Galaxy S2 unblocked? Took it to one of those dodgy high street places last time and they totally buggered up my phone.

Ever tried Cyannogenmod?  reloads their Android OS on your device, I have it running on my s4, rooted the phone, installed the new OS, now can have all those lovely apps that need root access that the shipped OS wont give you. and allows you on any network

Take a look here for s2 how to http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i9100

If it's the same phone you got unblocked before it will already be network unlocked.
