The Aftermath And Expectation

So, 2013/14 season is over for both Bristol City and our Non League neighbours.

A season which has seen Cardiff, Yeovil, and Gas all relegated.

However, we must not lose sight of our own short fallings.

After a disastrous first half to the season, we managed to climb to the "Heady Heights" of mid table, and in doing so have hopefully started the long road back.

So, is this a successful season?

No. Success must not be based on the failings of others - however enjoyable.

Mr Cotterill must be given funds to continue his rebuild.

With the improved performances and results, comes increased expectancy from the terraces, and for many, a Play Off position will be an absolute minimum.

In addition, Bristol City FC will now carry the "Hopes, Aspirations and Expectencies" of the whole of Bristol.

The simple way I see it is it all comes down to decisions.  SOD, in hindsight was a terrible, terrible decision.  Cotterill, on the other had, so far seems a very good one.

The success or failure of any club will come down to the type of decisions a club makes.

Our erstwhile League local rivals are a case in point.  What a terrible decision to push Ward upstairs and promote a managerial novice into a situation like that.

The season ended a damn sight better than I hoped for us, irrelevant of Gas and Cardiff.

I hope we sign Nosworthy, Gillett and Elliott. Not bothered if Barnett goes.

Few decent signings and we should have decent season ahead. Famous last words.
