TinMan's left peg
Quite a big (if not exactly complimentary) mention about city on the QI podcast 'no such thing as a fish' - episode 17. It's 18 mins in if you only want to hear the bit about city (although the rest is pretty good, all football themed episode) http://qi.com/podcast/
Eddie Hitler
Episode 17 is the only one on that page without a listen to bar! Any chance of a quick summary? Stephen Fry's a proper Norwich fan, he annoyed QPR fans recently.
TinMan's left peg
we came up as an interesting fact for the 'goal that never was' against Palace. Then John Lloyd started to ask if we were a rubbish team (he doesn't watch football) as he remembers a joke about us from 'Not the 9 o'clock news' along the lines of "Lord Lucan has been found... Playing centre forward for Bristol City". Then one guy talks about coming to Bristol as a Tranmere fan, stoping to ask directions to the gate and being told "we don't play football round ere" by someone. Should be able to download it from iTunes / podcast app
Eddie Hitler
Cheers TM. I remember Mel Smith as a newsreader doing the Lord Lucan joke about us. Fame of sorts.

'Orns
Wasn't it Jasper Carrot said that his kids grew up thinking that Brum's real name was Birmingham City Nil.....? Guess that was around the same time that we were plummeting down the leagues, thankfully JC was able to laugh at his own club rather than ours!
