Red Rag
Just picked up my tickets from AG for tomorrows game. Took a look at the demolition works whilst there, it struck me that with the EE gone the wind is going to howl through the gap. Sure to affect the game in some way, not sure if it will be to our adavntage or not.

Whilst in theory both teams will have to cope with it for half of each game, as the season progresses we should become more experienced in dealing with it so it may have a marginal benefit. Admin phantom Posted August 11, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted August 11, 2014 Assuming that the wind is coming in from that end ? I did wonder how it will affect the teams attacking that end - whether it is harder / easier to attack an end where there is nothing there
Nogbad the Bad
Just picked up my tickets from AG for tomorrows game. Sure to affect the game in some way, not sure if it will be to our adavntage or not. Picked up my tickets about an hour ago. Viewed the East End rubble for the first time from the car park and then the Dolman/Atyeo gap - quite a shocking sight. Notice there are a couple of fairly big trees behind the goal but if the wind is up it's bound to affect play. Presumably some high netting will be put up because it doesn't look safe or practical to retrieve a ball from behind that goal as things stand. The Dolman Pragmatist
Didn't Arsenal have a mural of a crowd when they rebuilt the stand behind one of the goals at Highbury? Now found a picture of it:

pongo88
There always used to be a lot of wind from the east enders, so it won't make any difference
downendcity
theres going to be a board up behind the goal so will reduce wind effect I had visions of THE board behind he east end goal acting as ball boys, and Jon Lansdowne scurrying among the rubble trying to get the ball back. Cotham Brow Red
I guess if there was to be a higher hoarding that wouldve made the webcam on the Ateyo a bit redundant.
KeNDAILIL
Could possibly give oxford an increased chance of winning, with The Kassam only having 3 stands..
Guest
Don't forget the stand steelwork will probably appear quite quickly.
RedM
Well either we got lots of balls, or several kids scrabbling around in the rubble? I bet the contractors will be keen to get to work the day after a match, a few nice footballs for their kids!
