Who Are Rovers?
Seeing that Wade Elliot has come under some criticism over the last few weeks, I thought he was superb today. With Smith being injured, it seems he was given the role in which he exceeded in last season, which is now Smith's role. Watching him today made me notice similarities in what Liverpool have done with Gerrard as he as got older, playing him deeper, to break up the play, and use his passing to full effect. Just a bit of recognition to him for his performance, as I thought he was well and truly back to his best.

Aussie
I don't think he has been criticised. More the odd game recently, he hasn't played as well as he has in other games. I doubt there is anyone on here who doesn't think he is one of - if not the - best football player at the club.
Who Are Rovers?
Under criticism from who? I've seen comments on here over the past few weeks questioning him, and where I sit in the Williams I've heard some ridiculous comments being hurled at and about him. bristol south end
One of my fav players. He is the heart beat of the team. The other one with lots of skill is sat on the bench alot getting 1 minute per game.
1960maaan
I think it's partially because of the change this year. Last year the team struggled and he was outstanding, head and shoulders above most of the team. This year everyone is stepping up and his work may not be as obvious , or if he drops slightly below his standards it's more noticeable.
I BELIEVE
I think he is class. Good captain, leads by example and is very consistent and reliable. Top player
formerly known as ivan
I think his age has been catching up with him over the last few weeks so glad to hear he performed well. It will be asking a lot of him to perform at 100 miles an hour every game. Maybe a deeper sitting role will benefit him and us and leave smith to run around like a lunatic. Rocky
I've not read or heard any criticism. Obviously an intelligent player, comes across as a deep thinker and all round decent chap during interviews too. He doesn't give the standard media trained responses. Pickled Onion
Met him at the shirt signing event at AG and he was a really nice bloke. Funny and self-deprecating. Had time for everyone, especially the kids. Superb captain - the best as far back as I can remember and as OP said, heartbeat of the team.
Chivs
He's a nasty piece of work. And I love that about him. I mean he doesn't mind making sure the opposition know he's about and the ball doesn't have to be around! Also, did anyone see him talking to Wes Burns during the Chesterfield game when Wes had screwed up for their second goal? He seemed to be really having a long talk with Wes. For all our recent previous captains (Baldock, Fontaine, Elliot etc), I can't recall any of them actually talking to a player after they'd messed up. cidered abroad
Wade Elliott is superb for City. Obviously looks after himself, like Wilbraham, and is an inspirational captain for a team that is still young at heart and experience.

HoldenBall
Ok, I won't hide.. I have criticised him on here a bit, but just making points that he could be doing better.. for me he hasn't hit the form of his loan spell yet, but today he was class, he is genuinely a class player and seems a top guy off the pitch, and I'm delighted he's captain.. I'll wait for those slaps
Robin 101
He was excellent today along with Flint and Freeman. If we are to bring in Older players then Wade and Wilbraham are examples of the way to do it. Players that work hard, are examples to the younger players and contribute as much as anyone else in the team. We have had several in the last few years who have not been any of these things and now our more experienced players are the right kind we are seeing the difference it can make. The Gasbuster
We've been crying out for a proper Captain for a few seasons. Now we have two on the pitch, in Wade & Korey.
Negan
Not sure why he would be criticised? I mean it's not like he's had a terrible game, he's been consistent all season and a great leader but even when we are top some fans will still want to moan about something or someone so it's no surprise they've gone for the oldest player. Keep it up Wade! You're doing a great job, as are the rest of the team!

BRISTOL86
Must say I've never seen or heard a word of criticism towards wade other than the immediate aftermath of his blunder for the MK equaliser, and it was instantly forgotten! Class act on and off the pitch and a real asset to the squad.
