handsofclay
By the time we play tomorrow it will have been 9 days since our last competitive match. Obviously this isn't a record but what is? What is the longest period DURING a season that City have gone without playing a competitive match? I mean not playing at all so don't answer 'all the time that SOD was here'.

handsofclay
About 3 months between Dec 62 and March 63. It was THAT winter! (us old'uns will remember) Thought it might be. I was born at end of Nov 62. All I recall of that period is cursing my luck that I had seemingly been born to an Eskimo family.
handsofclay
I have now discovered that the biggest gap between competitive matches City have gone during a season is 75 years and counting as they played 3 matches of the 1939-40 season and haven't played the remainder of the games that season. Seems stupid commencing that season at all with war imminent. The biggest cock up since King Kong first set eyes on Fay Wray.
