Big Red Rich
Missed the decisive penalty for Worcester tonight. His name rang a bell, former Stoke City, did we give him stick about something? An own goal perhaps? I really can't remember why it sticks so much?!!! Such a shame for Worcester as well... JamesBCFC
Just googled it.... I demand a rematch, Stoke clearly cheated, they substituted Kyle Lightbourne twice
Nogbad the Bad
Just googled it.... Alan Miller and Darren Dunning, completely forgot about them. If you'd told me City had 2 players on loan from Blackburn who'd played in that Final, I'd never have got them.
BCFC_Dan
What the hell is that lineup? No wonder we lost! Presumably Murray played right-back? Or did Holland play in the back 3? Either way we must have had at least one midfielder playing in defence.

Slight memory of Dunning, but which regular City keeper was out of action early in the season so we had to get a loanee in August?
Big Red Rich
Yeah this was an early season rematch in the 2000/2001 rematch. I too noticed Miller as a strange name on the team sheet, it would have been around the Mercer/Phillips time wouldn't it?
Alex_BCFC
I seem to remember Mercer being in goal for the final.
Admin phantom Posted December 18, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted December 18, 2014 I seem to remember Mercer being in goal for the final. Just came back from injury and wasn't 100% fit
BCFC_Dan
I think Mercer was injured by then (he definitely played in the AWS final) and Phillips hadn't recovered mentally from the 3-0 defeat at Oxford. We also had Mike Stowell in goal at around that time, though that might have been the season after.
