They've signed a player who wasn't on a contract. I can only imagine they contacted the player before the 7 days were up. In non-league if a player is not under contract you make a 7 day approach to the club. The club then have the chance to let the player know and discuss his plans - essentially try and keep hold of him. Once the 7 days are up Swindon can make contact with the player.
