Alex_BCFC
Yeah seemed slightly strange as Joe put in some good balls yesterday. His finishing wasn't the best but he wasn't alone.
Welcome To The Jungle
However it was true. It didnt seem like a bollocking thoufh just making sure joe improves. He'll finish his next good chance I wager

East End Old Boy
Joe is intelligent enough to take criticism, whilst others, perhaps, need wrapping up in cotton wool?
Esmond Million's Bung
Joe is intelligent enough to take criticism, whilst others, perhaps, need wrapping up in cotton wool? Exactly, if he takes this badly then he's in the wrong profession.
WTFiGO!?!
Didn't see the game but Joe did miss three or four opportunities and maybe SC was excusing the shoreline not being higher (given they had an outfield player in goal for a large part - it does need explaining, imo) for this reason, without any criticism intended to Joe personally? As said, Joe is bright enough indeed to respond appropriately and from what I gather, if this is a ploy to help ensure he remains down to earth then it is good man-management also. SimplyRed
It's a funny old game. While I agree it was out of character for SC to comment on individual players, I posted a more positive slant about exactly the same quote, /index.php?/topic/167114-a-mark-of-our-progress/">here. Admin Ian M Posted January 19, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 It's not the first time he has called out Joe Bryan in his post match comments. May be that with all the positive comments Joe has attracted this season he is keeping him grounded. Regardless I personally feel more confident of scoring goals when Joe plays instead of Greg. LondonBristolian
Thing is, SC knows Joe Bryan and works with him day in/day out. As long as his judgement's right - which it has been so far - he'll have calculated that he'll respond in the right way to this.
Spike
Unless his finishing gets to this level of poor: I doubt very much Cotterill is worried, just giving him a bit of motivation to go out and prove himself.
