Greg Cunningham Centre Back ?

He can barely play his natural position at the moment so it's an easy no.

Very harsh. Thought he's been good coming off the bench or occasional start at LB/LWB. Not easy when you haven't had a regular run of games.

LCB obviously not his natural position, but isn't to say he couldn't get the hang of it. Looked out of position at times last night.

Ideally no, to be honest.

Can fully understand WHY he's been deployed in that role in a pinch, but personally would rather see Osborne fitted into the back three if Williams cannot make the Sheffield United game.

The back three have been excellent all season, and any of them changing at any time is a blow, but for me, if you have a specialist for a role; play them in it.

Osborne might not carry the ball forward in the same way, but he's a solid and reliable player (albeit likely not match sharp), and he could do a job for us, I'm sure.

Save Greg for the left wing back role.

Tough choice if Williams is out.

Cunningham looked all at sea in midweek, whereas Osborne is not match fit and all right footed, so it would disrupt the back three either way.

Think I'd just go with Greg in terms of pace and left/right balance if Derrick is out.

I'd pick Osbourne over Cunningham at centre half any day of the week. I know he's hardly played but I think Greg looks really uncomfortable playing there. On the couple of occasions he's had to, he's worked hard and done his best. Osbourne's omission from the 18 man squad is a bit of a mystery to me when we've no recognised centre half on the bench (especially since we play three of them) but we've hardly come unstuck so I can't complain.

My thoughts exactly.

But do we know if Derek is out?

Coterill just said he was taken off as a precaution because he had a "tight groin".

I get that when big Sarah down the pub has her low-cut top on.

Sounds like he's fine.

Alarm over, though stand by my original thoughts that I'd prefer a specialist centreback (even if not left footed) in for him if was was rested.

Agree unfortunately. When Greg steps in after weeks of watching Joe Bryan he just looks so poor. Technically nowhere near on Bryan's level.

Due to the formation and personnel though I feel as though we have little option but to play Greg if Williams is ever unfit. Fortunately it looks like Del boy will be fit this weekend!
