WTFiGO!?!
My old man made the point that he's never known a City side to be 10 points clear at the top of the league. His detailed experiance doesn't go further than when he first took us in Jan '90. Just the odd visit, work mates etc. Have we ever been 10 points clear of second and 11 of third before, ever? These players.could be making actual legends of themselves.

Guest
We should not get to far ahead of ourselves and remember what happened the last time we went up and what happened after; and way back, the last time we made the jump to the top flight. Hope those history moments don't repeat themselves, but gently gently this time and one day at a time. p.s you can still go on the pitch when we get this seasons outcome confirmed. handsofclay
There were several times in the 1920s and 1930s when City yo yoed between Div II and Div III South, to get promotion City would've had to finish top each time and with 2 points and not 3pts for a win a ten point gap now would equate to a seven point gap then, so I wouldn't be surprised if at some stage in those seasons City opened up a seven point gap or more at the top. Admin phantom Posted March 4, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 Reckon before we pulled away now, the biggest gap we had was 5 points back in November
handsofclay
1954-55 City finished 9 pts clear at the top equivalent to 13 pts clear in today's money. In 1922-23 they finished 6 pts clear which is 9 pts in our money, so it wouldn't take too much of a leap of faith to believe they might've at some stage been even more in front.
