BRISTOL86
Further research and I've just stumbled across the Tannoy HTS101 system which is not only cheaper than the QA but the satellite speakers are considerably smaller. Anyone got any experience of either (or alternative) speakers?
BCFC Jimmer
I have Q2010 bookshelf speakers and a denon amp. Superb. Bookshelf speakers are more than loud enough unless you have a huge living room.
BRISTOL86
Yeah I'm now looking at the 2010i speakers as they have a smaller footprint than the 2020i I'm worried they're still too big for wall mounting though. They're still pretty deep at 20cm Do you have a sub? If not how is the bass from the 2010's? Do you feel like you need a sub?
BCFC Jimmer
Yeah, I have them on stands. My instinct tells me they are small enough to be wall mounted but can't be 100% sure. I have a sub but generally use it for watching movies. For music and everyday needs the bass in the 2010's is good enough. Once you are setup be prepared to become a 'sound snob'. Whenever i watch football or movies around friends now it just isn't the same.
BRISTOL86
Yeah they are definitely able to be wall mounted, they just might look a bit odd as they are so deep. I love the look of them though so think I will risk it! I watch a lot of movies so will probably opt to add the sub but at a later date if I find the bass lacking without it. Cheers! simon uk
I have invested in a bang and olufsen beoplay s8, which is a 2.1, but can be made up to 5.1. They look great and the sound is ace, depends on your space requirements though, the satellites are 6 inch diameter and the sub is like a vase. Mad Cyril
Generally speaking my choice of movies mean I have to keep the sound right down. Can anyone recommend a sound system that means no one knows the filth I am viewing?
