Rather randomly, I also own the Macclesfield Town away shirt from the same season which is of identical design but black. I'm pretty sure that the home shirt from the 1911/12 season was all red with red laces at the collar. I think it was the same as Macclesfield Town's away shirt for that season which was all black with black laces at the collar. I know coz my grandfather said he'd seen Macclesfield play Glossop North End in a match after the Titanic sunk and everyone was booing Macclesfield for not wearing black armbands as a mark of respect, although it turned out they were it was just that nobody could tell.
