Now, I think anyone with a working pair of eyes, and a basic sense of perception, can see from those pictures, the figure of 2,442 yesterday, was indeed absolutely correct.

Two proper clubs. I think 2500ish sounds about right. Decent following and decent atmosphere. Enjoyed the day and a good game. Proper football in my opinion.

Ps. a decent football ground and after the goal and first 10 mins plus a couple of other times PNE made some good noise. Here's to us being Champions league and PNE being the first losers.

Whatever...

Superb following from us again.

It does really matter.  It means PNE aren't paying tax on some of their income.  Which is wrong.

Obviously, it's possible that a fair few pre-paid didn't turn up and their were a handful of POTD.  Or a few pre-paid didn't turn up and there were only a few POTD.  My money is on:..........tax evasion by PNE.

I'd be interested to know how many other games where the pre-paid are less than the actual attendance.

Completely over the top nonsense. See post #31.

Whatever the 'official' att was it doesn't matter because all clubs occasionally do the 'adjusted attendance' for (nudge,nudge...wink,wink) tax purposes. Ours most certainly have in the past.

It definitely used to happen. I doubt it does nowadays with all seater stadiums and ticket only admission.

Again, you can't just pretend ticket sales haven't happened for tax purposes

In the 70s/80s - yes - but in the day of computerised ticket systems and financial control, there's no way clubs are getting away with that.

Surely FFP would make this a lot less of an attractive proposition? Hey we cheated HMRC but our budget for wages is less. Can't see it this day and age. Also hate threads like these because they make us look as tinpot as the Gas. Well done to those that travelled, you sounded immense.

Yep, aren't we more likely to sell out every game (in our new, higher capacity stadium), with SL buying up spare tickets to boost our footballing revenue for FFP. Go on Steve, you know it makes sense. ;)

Do you really think auditors, especially those expensive ones, know what they are doing? They seem to overlook massive holes in customers accounts whilst it suits them.

Anyway, I'm sure there must be some honourable auditors and I imagine they ask the club "How many tickets did you sell? Where's the revenue?"

Could people pay for their tickets in cash at the turnstiles yesterday?

I've worked with excellent auditors and terrible ones and even the terrible ones would certainly notice if you're routinely doing X amount of work and recording Y amount of income!
