Andy082005
...I know Atyeo was playing for us last time we won a league title, however who was our captain back then?
Abraham Romanovich
Anybody on here see it ?- bit of a depressing thought but if we have to wait another 60 years I for one will be pushing up daisies.
EstoniaTallinnRed
It was Jack White. Captain in the promotion season 1954-55 Third Division South. I was 10 then, my Dad used to take me, but I can't remember it. Old Age!
GrahamC
Sadly Jack passed away in 2011,but it is an indication of just how long it has been that we have gone without winning a league title that he was 87 then.
Curr Avon
Alec Eisentrager and Jack Boxley may be the only surviving members from that victorious squad. It would be a great gesture if the Club could invite them to be guests of honour at the Walsall game. A real mark of respect that crosses the generations.
