E.J.Thribb
Since my time watching the City it's got to be Darren Barnard and Mickey Bell. Sweetest left feet around. Tins following pretty close.
ralphindevon
Jimmy Mann and Walshy had the hardest shots but Mickey Bell could do more with the ball. That said, he played with lighter balls than Mann. Mark Gavin was quite useful too!
TV Tom
Tinman in my lifetime. Barnard possibly too. Did Tinnion ever score direct from a free kick?
Alan Dicks
Alan Walsh and Brian Tinnion for me
ducky
Darren Barnard for me, the excitement when he stood over the ball 25 yards from goal was great.
BUTOR
Paul Hartley. Seem to remember Steven Davies could hit a free kick too

SimonR
Mickey Bell for me, that guy could really place a free kick
TRL
People keep mentioning tinman don't get me wrong had a wand of a left foot in open play. But free kicks and corners... I remember years and years of bugger all goals from corners and free kicks. I do remember some good free kick takers but I would never mention tinman in the same breath as them... He scored a few but he never genrated the pace to be a good free kick taker. Direct free kick taker Bell, Bernard and Walsh in my life time. Creativity I would go with Freeman. Offside
Walshy, Tinman, Barnard and Bell stand out for me. I also remember Mark Gavin being good at delivering corners to the near post. Freeman this season has been excellent - corners more so than free kicks.
Come on Eileen
Ernie Hunt scored the most spectacular free kick of its time unfortunately before his time with us but I never saw anyone hit the dead ball harder or sweeter than Norman Hunter. Guest
Disagree with people that say Tinnion. We hardly ever used to score from corners when he was taking them, the way he used to float them in was a lot easier for teams to defend against than it is with Freeman's whipped in corners - by far the best at corners in my 20+ years of a supporter. Free kicks, probably Micky Bell. And penalties, Bell and Barnard never missed.

Alex_BCFC
Bell, Barnard and Tinnion. Something about having a left foot for set pieces.
redsquirrel
i saw mann and hunter wallop balls in. will never forget the time norms boot went with the ball.only thing i cant decide is who hit it sweeter. both could fire cannonballs. jet had the best placement for tho,ok,not dead balls, but he put it where he wanted to strike it from so as good as in my book.
