Mr Popodopolous
It's ridiculous to be playing 4 day cricket this late in the season anyway, though I get it from a commercial POV. I know it's not just this season but it's a bit of a nonsense. We've been very lucky with the weather so far. By "we" I don't mean any side in particular, I mean the 2 divisions in general! Plus the 2 Tests, especially at The Oval! Edited September 17, 2019 by Mr Popodopolous
Mr Popodopolous
You guys must be uniquely unlucky in terms of title contenders. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO44787 How on earth Essex won from there...then the Middlesex v Yorkshire debacle 2 years ago. If Kent had even posted 100 in the above then they win probably, title on its way to Taunton. Now the forecast in what has been a nice September looks wet next week! Come on boys, keep going Roderick. Daytimes look just about ok. Rain forecast later in the day 34 minutes ago, Super said: whatever happens in these matches we beat Essex we are champions? Yes, so in theory still in our hands
Mr Popodopolous
God, Glamorgan made 400 after all! Use of part time bowlers perhaps helped take them over the line...this season a unique opportunity for us and indeed Somerset- can either take it? Mr Popodopolous
200 up! Wasn't expecting it at various points of this innings. It's ridiculously tight this battle for the last 2 places though and yet may become tighter still! cidercity1987
Higgins and Payne blasting us towards parity. I see Higgins has performed incredibly well with both bat and ball this season.
Midred
Can we ask Mr Fraser for advice about successful appeals agaimst a crap pitch?
Dogbert
The commentators in the Somerset game were saying there was an extra 10 minutes before lunch as we had 8 wickets down, but I presumed the session was 10 minutes longer to make up for some lost overs yesterday wasn't it? PHILINFRANCE
Wow! 100 up - shame that we are 8 wickets down. Still, two sensible batsmen to continue after lunch and perhaps get at least one batting point.
cidercity1987
It's the Higgins and Payne show, get in there boys! Smashing those wickets down, effectively 24-

ExiledAjax
Hampshire 10/2 10/3. Is this pitch just an absolute state or is this just what a red ball does in September? Mr Popodopolous
The one POSSIBLE positive from it- and there's only one. If somehow it meant the pitch was easing out for a nicer chase- otherwise it's very annoying and in a lowish scoring game, potentially damaging.
