kiwicolin Posted June 19, 2004 Report Share Posted June 19, 2004 has anyone any idea why rugby referees have more respect than the football referees??? watching NEW ZEALAND BEAT ENGLAND AGAIN THIS MORNING the referees can control the players better,even though the players are twice his size. also the touch judges/linesmen/assistant referees (whatever) had more input into the game and making the decisions.at least the referee talks and listens to what is being said by them. can this ever happen in football??? if not why not. Bigger then the next player, bigger then the ref, bigger then the manager, bigger than the chairman and overall bigger than the club. Even if you go watch a bunch of 6 yr olds there argueing and stamping their feet like.. well, six year olds.. In rugby if you give any lip then it's another 10 yards and like that until you learn to shut up.. You'd learn pretty fast with 20'000 people on your case everytime you did it in football I think!!
