MetzRed
No it is not. It's not even that Caulker was better when he was with us than Rose was but there is nothing convincing about Danny Rose at PL level. Caulker ceiling is much higher but he's been at the centre of some shocking back 4s let alone teams.
LondonBristolian
Not sure why being that bad last season another Prem league team have given him a chance. It's because your assessment of both how bad he was last season and how limited his potential is as a football are both not supported by facts. Lrrr
Why is he covering for a Spurs player by going on loan to Southampton? Something to do with Southampton believing they had a clause giving first choice on Alderwiereld but they sold him to Spurs instead. Southampton supposedly looking into options as far as I read a while ago.

MC RISK77
Oh dear, he's more like a mercenary/journeyman now. Hoping from club to club, relegated club to club to be exact. Not sure what Koeman sees in him, maybe a Gary Cahill type effect might happen, didn't rate him at relegated Bolton that season but he's turned into the best English CB (playing for England that is) Exactly this...just because he once played for us and was decent doesn't mean he is going to be an England regular, be surprised if he gets more than 20 caps and certainly not England captain material that some on here suggest he will be
Monkeh
All a matter of opinion. And yours is wrong. If it was wrong he would be playing international football the fact he isn't says I'm right That could change but he is no where near international class at the moment
And Its Smith
I think people on here don't actually watch that much football and judge him on his time with us. Caulker was very poor last season. Some of that probably wasn't his fault as QPR were a bit of a mess and his confidence was shot, but he hasn't progressed since being here. If we signed him now he would undoubtedly look good but is not convincing as a Premier League centre back. This is a good move for him though and he could easily kick on, which he needs to do, especially positionally. He also needs to play with more intensity. Currently he is miles behind Stones, Cahill, Jagielka, Jones and Smalling so needs to work hard if he wants to play for England.
Alex_BCFC
He isn't good enough to play for England - maybe one day but has a way to go I think. I think he is more lower end of the Prem than Southampton but we shall see. Certainly better than just a Championship player.
Jesus
Caulker is a fantastic defender, and probably one of the best I've seen in a City shirt. QPR was a bad club for him, and Ferdinand was completely gone last season and made him look bad. Watch him florish at Southampton.
BS4 on Tour...
Ok fair enough so he played lots of games and was terrible. Love how you justify your "struggled to get a game in a shocking QPR team last season" comment with "ok fair enough" when told he played 35 out of 38 games!!! How can we believe your "...and was terrible" assessment of him if you couldn't even be bothered to find out how many games he played?! Did you watch him 'live' or just on Match of the Day?! Well, thinking about it, if you'd judged him on Match of the Day performances you'd have known he played a lot of games. So, lots of flawed arguments.....keep em coming! Cunnyfunt
Caulker is a fantastic defender, and probably one of the best I've seen in a City shirt. QPR was a bad club for him, and Ferdinand was completely gone last season and made him look bad. Watch him florish at Southampton.Ferdinand barely played last season, so he's hardly to blame if anything training with and listening to Rio should have made him better. Caulker was good for us, had a decent season on loan at Swansea but since then has looked out of his depth at Cardiff, Spurs and QPR. I agree that defenders usually get better with age, so he shouldn't totally get written off. Tony Adams played like a complete donkey in his younger years. He ended up as a colossus. Bar BS3
No doubt Caulker has gone backwards since leaving Spurs permenantly. Unlucky that he's been in poor teams, or teams he's been in aren't good enough because he is there ..? Who knows..?! This move could make or break him. If he doesn't start well then he could be back here on loan by January. If it goes well, he could be off to the Euros in the summer.
