whitey_03
Afternoon lads, Well let me fill you in on this boy, he is a striker who IMO shouldve got his chance at Rangers. He broke through the season before last and made a few goal scoring appearances from the subs bench, and was expected to play more this season, but with Rangers having Mols, De Boer, Thompson and Lovenkrands as strikers, Alex McLeish felt it would be more beneficial if he was loaned out for a season to gain first team experience. He was loaned out to S****horpe United, where he finished their leading scorer with 25 league goals, and he was out for a a month or two with an injury. He was expecting to return to Rangers at the end of the season and be given a fair chance of making the first team, but Alex McLeish seems to have had other plans. During the summer Rangers have signed Dado Prso from Monaco on a free transfer, which basically spelt the end of any chance McLean had at Rangers. He has attracted interest from Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City and Bristol City. He is quite a big forward, who is a strong runner, not fast but strong and he knows where the back of the net is. In the Scottish media it is being rumoured that City and Hull are looking to snap him up for £100,000, and i feel this could be a great signing for City. Hope this helps Cheers Rab ( Whitey )
Guest Georgeformbygrill
He was out for a bit aswell wasn't he? I go to see scunny a few times most seasons(due to having relatives up there)this season scunny havn't been at home when i've gone up to visit, so i havn't seen him play but my relatives speak highly of him. bucksred
Rab: Is this guy one who could link up well with Lee M and Robbo...sounds like Gers still buy in talent rather than trusting their kids to come through and do the biz? 25 goals a season looks good..are we looking at a Scottish International cap or two for the lad, or not quite that level yet? Cheers, Carl.
nickD
I've heard of this bloke, he was supposed to do wonders for Scunny. Looks like we need a left winger now though!

Cheers, Carl. I think he could work equally well with a big striker in Lee Miller and with a smaller striker in Robbo. I think he has turned out for Scotland in the Future Scotland team, which is like the B team, but I would say if he continues the way he is going a full Scotland call up will not be far away for the lad. Rangers are begining to trust in the youth they are bringing through the Academy now, but i feel although MacLean could do a great job for us in the Scottish league, he wouldnt cut it at Champions League level, and thats where Rangers need all the help they can get, so they have decided to go with Dado Prso, a recognised scorer in the Champions League. He could do a good job for City i feel, but also I feel Lee Miller will take off this season with City, so this might put my judgement of a player into doubt with some forum members

nickD
What about Larssons last night then ?? I didn't watch, saw bits of Italy's game but i havent seen any of the highlights of either as of yet......... Its a shame, if you're a striker these days it goes without saying that you can fall down in the penalty box like you've been sniper'ed, and then roll around, for 4 seconds, sit up, scream at the ref with your hands in the air, get up and run along like nothing happened. Although Owen did do it against the Argies a few years ago with great effect!

We're being linked to everybody at the mo, and any of the big twos players who come up, provided they dont carry personal problems have got to be worth looking at. A few of Citys best have been from north of the border....just wonder if this guy might be worth investing in..for me not a problem, they want to prove they are good, and coming to England may well give them that chance...look at PlyMOUTH -almighty these days. What sort of money are these youngsters on up there? Could we afford him I wonder?

The money up here for professional boys around 21, unless they are a big name coming in from abroad etc, they would get more money playing Division 2 football than playing with Rangers or Celtic At a guess i would say he is on around £900-£1000 a week, only speculation though
