I feel are poor defencive  work let us down on goals 1, 2 and 4. But his postioning was woe full for the free kick.

And if konjia and flintt take thier chances at 0. -  1, different game

Positioning was okay.  He clearly half expected a cross.  His problem was diving from a standing start and not taking a step or two first to get closer to the ball and to allow him to dive further.

Agree mostly but zero blame for second goal for me.

plus, after one bad game you can't go dropping your keeper.  You will understand how a keeper needs to feel secure and not that he will be dropped if he makes two mistakes.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not a massive fan of Fielding but he is much better than Hamer.

I don' t think it is a one off though. Looked shaky against Cardiff, got beat from about a mile out against Reading and doesn't come for crosses leaving Flint to head it out from underneath the bar at times. Hamer is better than he's shown us so far and I would give him another go personally. And if that doesn't work we need to buy a keeper in January to make sure we ain't running out against Colchester in a three quarters empty stadium in August.

I don't think he inspires any confidence in our defence at all. Very rarely commands the box and his punching and distribution is woeful. I was sat directly behind Blackmans goal for the Reading game and he went down so late you could see it would beat him, also the free kick yesterday was just bad keeping. McCormack is a free kick specialist so showing him 3/4 of the goal was rediculous.

If you want a keeper who comes for crosses then don't look at Hamer.

No point picking a keeper who is worse than the one in the team at the moment,.

I saw Hamer have a good game and keep a clean sheet in the Prem last season and a Leicester City fan I know well who has watched him on numerous occasions assures me he should do a good job at Championship level. Which makes me think that he has more in his locker than we have seen so far. If I was Manager I would be inclined to find out whether Hamer can do the job or whether I need to buy a keeper in a couple of months.

Love the fella , his energy and personality ......

But wtf was he up to today

First two goals he appeared to gamble and dive the wrong way and looked a bit embarrassing

The second I predicted to mym8 as he lined the wall up - the only danger was the side it went - it went in half way up and a good yard inside the post and it did have a bit of bend but he got nowhere near it

The fourth he looked like a part time keeper who'd lost his bearings

Doesn't have the presence for me if I'm honest and too much goes past him too easily

(Have another look at today's goals)

Am I being harsh here ?

Harsh but fair - seriously :(

He watches him every day in training.  Perhaps he isn't doing well in training.

Very true. But if he isn't capable of putting in a better shift than Frank did yesterday then he shouldn't be with us. It's all about opinions - you would keep Frank in, I would play Hamer. But either way our Goalkeeper simply has to do better than the performance yesterday.

As I wrote this thread and have my concerns re Frankie thought it only fair to pull it back up and say

Well Done Frankie

Saved us a point today with a penalty save and another top save in second half

Typical of the fella he played it down in his interview and directed the credit towards the analysts and keeper coach.

Top fella - really pleased for him

Well done Frank - a valuable contribution today :chant6ez:

Really pleased for Frank that he made two great saves today which earned us a useful point but if Cotterill and Coles believe him to be better than Hamer then we should be sending him back and entering the market for a GK in January in my opinion.
