French National Anthem before Prem Games

There's a fine line between getting these things just right or going slightly OTT doing too much 'losing' the collective consciousness and bringing about an involuntary feeling of public fatigue.... Its important to get that balance about right and not overdoing it.

The International England France game and playing of French anthem etc was pretty much perfect... Can't see what doing the same thing in domestic club league matches will add, a respectful minutes silence at each game is surely enough?

Too much and the impact and meaning becomes diluted due to well intentioned but unnecessary saturation..

Absolutely agree. The singing of the Marseillaise before the England v France international was a nice touch. As was the tricolor arch. And the flags. And the "L,F,E" quotes around the ground.

But that was enough, it did the trick. France got the message and loved it and we all enjoyed an evening of solidarity. This is just bandwagon-jumping and people will get fed up of it very quickly.

The only issue with the French anthem is the 'agadoo' effect.

All you have to do is listen to it once, and you can't stop whistling it, REALLY loudly for the rest of the day.

You won't even know you are doing it until someone tells you to shut the **** up.

Try it!

Anyone know where I can get a wrist band to show support?

Might change my profile pic on Facebook like 99% of my "friends" have.....

As mentioned, solidarity has been shown, why drag it out.

The fight goes on.

Being of a certain generation I can't hear the French national anthem without it being followed by 'All you need is Love' da-da da-da-da'! Now that would have been very fitting if seventy thousand fans and players had sung that!

Can't think of the Beatles "All you need is love" without thinking of the vomit inducing cringe feast scene from Notting Hill.
