Major Isewater
Neil Redfearn talks of ' experienced heads ' helping them out of their situation , i feel we are missing that in our team , Wilbraham apart . It is astonishing that we did n't buy or loan in a couple of Wade Elliot type players to help settle the talented youngsters into this level. Inexcusable . Phileas Fogg
Agree, Paul Konchesky would have been good and it proves atleast we were looking at those sort of players. A Steve Sidwell type would have been good, someone to take the game from midfield. Leon Britton would have been a great signing. Really hope we address this, someone to take responsibility for gee'ing the team up when we concede.
BobBobSuperBob
We lack 'leaders' on the pitch to rally the team when we go behind - SC has alluded to our 'mental frailties' all too often. Nice group of lads - possibly too nice
Lanterne Rouge
Must be careful we don`t end up with the likes of Morris, Shorey and others to numerous to mention though.
Lrrr
Didn't we bring in 'experienced' players last time we were struggling in the championship? Because that worked so well.... What we need is quality.

I'm not advocating signing any old player but one who could be motivated for one last hurrah and who could bring on our youngsters . Is n't that what successful sides do ? kiwicolin
Its a shame Elliot couldn't keep on playing , even though he is the under 21 manager
One BCFC
And how is that working for Rotherham? Yeah they beat us but they are still below us doesnt seem to be working for them so far.
BS4 on Tour...
Sorry to keep repeating myself, but Kevin Nolan....he's scored 99 goals for Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham. Proven leader. Some West Ham players said publicly that his half time team talks were inspirational and the reason for turning some games around. We can afford him... Cannot understand how it is we haven't appeared to show any interest in going after Leon Britton - As you say, he would have been a great signing. It wouldn't be public knowledge if we did though. We probably spoke to a lot of clubs about players this summer but only Gayle and Grey were leaked, probably by the agent to increase interest. I read on this forum we asked for Britton on loan but couldn't afford the wages. How true that is though is another question.
