All those asking for a change of manager are wrong, and if they were to get their way would increase greatly the likelihood of relegation. Too many City fans have a long history of anxiety, negativity, and pessimism, which have contributed significantly to the city of Bristol having the shameful record of only 4 years of top division football in over a century, a record which no other city of similar size in Europe can even approach.

Every season in which we have been relegated from the second (or third ) tier we have changed manager in mid season - 1960 ( Doherty), 1981 (Dicks) , 1982 (Houghton, Hodgson !! ), 1995 (Osman), 1999 (Ward) - this was particularly stupid, 2013 ( McInness), and on every one of those years we have played worse after the managerial change was made- which is saying something. We have never  been relegated from the second tier when we have stuck with the manager. We were relegated from the 1st division with Dicks. We stayed up on several occasions when we stuck with Dicks and even Millen in 2011.

Obviously results are disappointing, but the team is far better than 3 years ago ( when we were last relegated.) Clearly we should have replaced (improved on ) the fringe players who were released in the summer, and it is important to recruit well in the transfer window. Looking at the bench only Moore (who is a defender) and Bryan are up to Championship standard, which makes the lack of substitutions understandable to a degree. The squad is far too small.

So stop bitching , and panicking (or push off) , and get behind the players and team for every minute of every game, as that will give us the best chance of staying up.
