GrahamC
A French Second Division game: Chateauroux 0 Angers 1, the only goal scorer that day won't come as any surprise at all to us (Kodjia on 68 minutes) but just a minute later, presumably in response to the goal, Arnold Garita was brought on as a sub by the home side. How strange that two City players now were playing in the same lower league game in France in front of barely 6000 fans almost exactly a year ago to the week. At the end of the season Angers were promoted and now sit second in Ligue 1 (but miles behind runaway leaders PSG), whereas Chateauroux were relegated, so they now find themselves in the French national league, as football is regionalised beyond the top two divisions over there. By the way if anyone from the Bristol Post is reading this, this is called "research"...

handsofclay
What would be even weirder would be if we were to draw Chateaureux in the newly inaugurated Anglo French Cup and play them Jan 30th at AG and then Kodjia put us 1 up on the 68th minute and Garita comes off the bench a minute later in response to the goal (& is promptly told by the ref to get off the pitch and confinehis celebrating to the other side of the touchline).
