Russell slade on the brink

The club have dwindling crowds in a massive stadium that must cost a lot to run.

There are massive debts (£200 million or so) and whilst they currently benefit from parachute payments these will also disappear soon.

Plus they have a nutter as an owner.

There must be a big chance they could soon go the same way as Bolton - couldn't happen to a nicer club and fans!

Is this there last season of parachute payments?

He's been hated there since day one so no surprise.

Tan knows he ant take them any further so yields the ask, nothing wrong with that, undoubtedly will improve their chances of going up now.

No doubt he will bring in a manager like Pearson and they will progress.

Interesting use of the words "no doubt", so like they did with Mackay, Solskjaer and Slade, then?

They did progress under Mackay, at first. Then they regressed under Mackay. Then Mackay turned into Bernard Manning.

Think this applies to Cardiff...

"Parachute payments are currently worth £65 million over four seasons (£25 million in year 1; £20 million in year 2; and £10 million in each of years 3 and 4) and have a big influence on a club’s finances in the Championship."

Taken from this very detailed article..

So him spunking £7m on a Danish striker they then sold for £500k six months later had nothing to do with it?

Mackay is a massive reason as to why they were £179m in debt, it is some achievement to be the only club to waste nearly all of the money they got from Sky on promotion to the Prem, which is nothing at all to do with his offensive 1970s sitcom views..

Well Mackay took them up into the premier league as champions of this division in which we are struggling....I get what you mean about the transfer involving that Danish guy but Mackay was only there for two years and delivered a major trophy to get them to the promised land.

Cardiff spent around £35m on buying players when they got to the prem, which was a relatively small proportion of what promotion to the prem is worth - eg Norwich's play off win last season earned them £80m and Bournemouth and Watford are looking at revenue increases of around £130m after their promotions into the prem.

So, not sure how Malky is a massive reason as to why they were £179m in debt, as you intimated in a reply to someone else above. He was only there for four months of the season they got to the prem.

My guess is that he will go before the end of january or he will survive until the end of the season,

no way will his contract be renewed !

if he does survive the current belief by most, that he should go now, he will not be given any funds.

the thinking being that they cant go  up, but equally they wont go down, so  take some time out and find the right replacement at the right time and give that person some funds.

i guesss thats been the thinking for some weeks now,. But with attendances falling, the fans calling for a better brand of football and embarrassing defeats like Sunday, there comes a point.

hence as i stated in the title he is on the brink.

either way Slade is a dead man walking and he knows it.
