We Already Have Lots More Goals In House

Two players who were not able to make a contribution last season will make a big difference next season.

Its not rocket sicence but a Fit Murray will get the extra 10 or so goals missing last year from midfield and we have a "proven" goal scorer in Gilisipe some of the talk on this site is as if he is a 14 year old kid!!! he is older then Rooney for goodness sake!.. add a much under used Lita to the matter, stir in a bit of Goodfellow, who yes looks lightwieght but has a excellant goal scoring record for us and Stoke and we have plenty of goals in us player wise. sprinkle with a bit of Millar (the best idea here is in behind the front two - where he has played for large chucks of his career) and we have plenty of goals

What we need is a attack minded manager (lacking last year), less defense minded midfielders (Joe Burnell moving on sorts this out)...

so sod the players playing hard to get, lets make them a fair offerif rejected save the money and go with what we have got...

Totally disagree.

We need someone to create and score goals. We need to be more attack minded as a unit and we need someone to put the ball in the net on a consistent basis. None of our strikers have shown that they can do that.

Who knows how well Gillespie will adapt to our style of play and the division? He is a bit of an unkown quality. Because of Rooney people now think that he will be a huge hit. Only time will tell.

Just watched Tins interview on BC World. He's confident of signing Heffernan and is then looking to bring in somone who can play alongside him. And an attacking midfielder. So he clealry feels we need a spark from outside to create more goals.

Did Tinman actually say hes looking for an attack-minded midfielder? I havent heard much about bringing one in, mostly about the striker we crave.

I personally think Gillespie will be a bench warmer, cant see him getting in past Miller and a new, proven striker. He hasnt had much (if any) first team experience and to just throw him into the first team in this league would be disastrous, i feel.

Heffernan is the man to shoot us up. Stewart is good also, but for a guy that found 20+ goals from a team who were relegation-bound from day one (5-0), just imagine what he could do with a sound defence and a quick passing midfield behind him. The guy is a proven Division 2 scorer.

What midfielders are there available then? Wellens is fantastic to have, but wont it be like having two Tommy Docs? From what ive seen theyre quite similar.

Anyway, enough rambling.

:D:D BRING IT ON ROSENIOR!! :D:D

Unless your on another planet, the major and only problem last season was not having a proven goalscorer. We created chance after chance and Phillips went game after game without touching the ball. We can't bring in anybody who will be better than A.Brown and Wilkshire. But we can bring in a proven goalscorer to fill the missing piece of the jigsaw, Heffernan and McPhee proved themselves last season as being instinctive in the box, they don't contribute what Peacock gives us, but I think Miller can do a good job alongside an instinctive player in the box, he has settled in now and can act as a good target for our ball-playing midfielders in attacking moves.
