Use to be so easy when in front of defender you were offside wherever on the pitch Now you get people blocking, phases, advantage. Why make it so difficult. Not just one, but three players were blatantly offside - they were all interfering with play by deliberately obstructing the keepers view to gain an advantage. Might as well surround the keeper on the line if you are going to allow that. Ridiculous. Still, the likes of the big four can now reinvent the rules as they can't win fairly even with their massive financial advantage. Next week, Chelsea will claim that the oppositions goal was actually theirs as they were going to play towards that goalmouth in the second half. That was my view (and Joe Hart's), but apparently Midjylland (sp?) did the same thing against Man U last week and they checked with the referee - not offside, apparently.
