Tenuous I grant you, but there's some logic to it and it has the added advantage of peeing off the English. From their point of view I would imagine they don't feel too guilty anyway - Scotland lives under a Conservative government they definitely didn't want. In the long term I think they'll go independent. Personally I think this, along with Irish unification, would be a very good thing for all involved.
