Jimmy in charge at Bolton until end of season

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Bolton have confirmed Jimmy Phillips has stepped up from his academy role and is the gaffer until the end of the season.

The Beeb reports he was also the Trotter's caretaker manager for 3 games in 2012.

But apart from that, according to the net, he has never been a manager before.

During his 3 games in charge of Bolton in 2012, he oversaw Bolton beating us 3-2 at the Reebok as his 1st match.  So he does have a bit of form managing a Bolton team to success over us!

Surely he won't be able to do something similar this Saturday???

And Liam Feeney has joined Ipswich on loan, which also seems a strange move unless they have accepted relegation as a given & have now decided to cut the wages as it was also reported that Jay Spearing is unlikely to play for them again as if he plays one more game for them, then Liverpool will be owed another £100,000!!

Maybe this will see other players farmed out or not played in the coming weeks?

Out of contract in the summer. Guess it gives them a chance to see what else they've got and start building a squad for next season. http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/bolton-wanderers-to-sign-liam-feeney-19514-1564521.aspx

Wonder whether they'll promote a load of youth players.  Could work two ways if they do, the inexperienced youngsters start off with all the good intentions in the world, but then get put to the sword by about 4 goals (probably a Flint hat-trick thrown into the mix).

Or, they have a phenomenal batch of undiscovered talent, and the next Michael Owen runs us ragged.
