cidered abroad Posted March 28, 2016 Report Share Posted March 28, 2016 I would imagine that the biggest problem for Wigan is that the football season runs from August to early May whereas the Rugby League runs from February until July/August. With Rugby Union having a similar season to football, the annual pitch maintenance takes place in the summer, the best time for it. I don't know how we would cope with a "Wigan" situation. wayne allisons tongues Posted March 28, 2016 Author Report Share Posted March 28, 2016 It's definate a problem for there pitch is awful normally and it chucked it down yesterday in Manchester so guessing pitch is really soft already. Just thought it was very unusual to have 2 games on the same day but differant sports. Would of thought one could of played Tuesday but then Wigan are home Friday in rugby league so guess this is best way to rest the pitch. We are lucky that it is union and football that's played so can do relay work in the summer but with club looking at concerts soon at the ground will that effect the maintenance or covering it be enough, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
